WHO WE ARE
Some young women's lives are parched. They wither under the pressure of friends who lure them into taking illegal drugs or alcohol. They are scorched by destructive relationships. They get pregnant.
Are abused. Have eating disorders. Feel cheated. They hurt deep inside as shame overwhelms them. They may even consider suicide as an answer to their problems.
These young women today are not any different from the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at Jacob's well two thousand years ago.
Jacob's well was a meeting place in Samaria. One day Jesus met a woman there. Because she was wrapped in shame, she came alone and arrived when others would not be there. But, to her surprise, Jesus was waiting.He knew her story even before she told him.
He knew about the lies. He knew about the masks she wore.
He knew about the poor choices she made. He knew her pain before she identified it herself. He knew her thirst.
Jesus offered her grace. He offered her acceptance. He did not focus on her sins, but offered her healing. He offered to quench her thirst. It was there at Jacob's well that she met Jesus and was forever changed.
Well of GRACE Ministries will be a meeting place in southwest Michigan where young women can meet Jesus, receive grace and have their thirst quenched.
